The construction of 5G base stations has been actively deployed. From the perspective of technical path, there are two types of 5G network construction: independent networking (NSA) and independent networking (SA).
Non independent networking NSA refers to the transformation, upgrading and addition of some 5G devices on the basis of the existing 4G core network. It has the advantages of simple deployment and fast start. However, the essence of the core network has not changed, and its network delay, business deployment agility and service reliability will be slightly inferior to the real 5G network.
The independent networking SA uses a new set of 5G networks, including a new base station and core network, but the deployment cost is high and the investment is large.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by the end of 2019, the total number of base stations in China had exceeded 8.41 million, of which the 4G base stations accounted for 64.7%, about 5.44 million, and the total number of 5G base stations exceeded 130000.
However, compared with 4G BTSs, the total number of 5G BTSs accounts for less than 2%. There is still a huge gap between the two in terms of layout, which is also the reason why the 5G network has not been widely deployed.
With the release of relevant documents of "new infrastructure", the construction of 5G base stations will usher in a high light moment, and the three major domestic operators have opened the 5G purchase order mode.
China Mobile said that it will strive to reach 300000 5G base stations by the end of 2020, ensure that all cities above prefecture level will provide 5G commercial services in 2020, accelerate the evolution of target networks from NSA to SA, and strive to achieve SA commercial use in the fourth quarter.
The other two major operators, China Telecom and China Unicom, also released the centralized prequalification announcement on their official websites for the joint centralized procurement project of wireless master equipment for the 2020 5G SA new project on March 10, with an estimated scale of 250000 stations.
In terms of quantity alone, the total number of 5G base station procurement plans recently released by the three major operators has approached 550000.
Year on year 2019, the number of (base stations) is more than three times the growth rate. According to the estimated peak of China's scale deployment, the number of stations deployed each year is close to 900000 to 1000000, so this year (the deployment of base stations) has been growing rapidly.
This is a great opportunity for 5G Internet of Vehicles to land and run out of the "Demonstration Zone".
The realization of the Internet of Vehicles relies on the vehicle end sensors, controllers, actuators and other devices carried by the vehicle, and integrates modern communication and network technologies to achieve information exchange and sharing among vehicles, roads and clouds.
